Biographical History

Walker studied for Presbyterian in Edinburgh University, was licensed to preach in 1754, and took charge of his first parish in 1758. He delivered occasional sermons even after his appointment to the Natural History chair in Edinburgh in 1779.

Scope and Content

Sermons consists of:

  • Preacher's notes. Sermons include two for formal days of thanksgiving, 1758 and 1759, one on the death of the king, November 1760, and one delivered before the General Assembly of 1790.
