Scope and Content

Scope and Content

A little folder of unbound pages contains a few more announcements and subscriptions offerings, concerning things like a new fish company for Edinburgh and Glasgow, a museum of Scottish antiquities, and courses in art, French history, invertebrate animals, and English composition and elocution. There is also matriculation material for the College of Physicians and Surgeons in the University of the State of New York. In the same packet are a pair of religious tracts, an 1814 panegyric on a German professor, an 1817 note on French politics and customs by the surgeon J Robertson, and an open letter on fisheries from 1786. The rest of this part of the file is on public policy in literature and the fine arts, Scottish navigation, and property rights in Leith. There is a Latin address from 1793 to the Swedish scientific establishment on the utility and beauty of botany.
