Sir Roderick Impey Murchison wrote to many people, particulary to his wife, describing work he had done and places he had visited. Sir Archibald Geikie received a lot of correspondence Murchison wrote to other scientists (See GB 0237 Sir Archibald Geikie Gen. 523) when preparing his biography, Life of Sir Roderick I. Murchison, (1875).
