Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Sir Isaac Bayley Balfour concerning the re-drafting of Bower's speech to the Australian meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science and giving him the reference for a quotation from Shakespeare which Bower wishes to use in his speech. He remarks on the work of William Bateson referring to him as "a mere amateur in Botany whose facts are entirely obtained by picking the brains of others".
