Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Sir William Abbott Herdman concerning the post of recorder to Section K (botany) of the British Association for the Advancement of Science for the meeting in Australia. Herdman approves of Bower's suggestion of TG Hill for the post on the proviso that Hill becomes a full member of the association as it is unprecedented for an associate member of the association to hold a post within it. He also approves of Thomas Johnson as an alternative to Hill and authorises Bower to offer the post to Johnson unless he thinks TG Hill would be the better man for the job.
