Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Sir William Abbott Herdman marked "Confidential". In it he discusses the candidates for the next presidency of the British Association for the Advancement of Science which included Sir Isaac Bayley Balfour and Sir David Prain and asks Bower for information which would assist Herdman in guiding the council. Includes note of Bower's reply in which he states that Balfour is unlikely to take it as he has been ill, Dukinfield Henry Scott would be next in seniority and that Sir David Prain could wait. Bower's man of choice out of the list would be Sir Charles Scott Sherrington.
