Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Luigi Luiggi thanking Bower for his kind letter and also for what he says about the new coinage. He remarks that it will be a great boon for better interchange between the allies and states that the Anglo-Italian bank is now a "fait accompli". He says that the military operations are quite satisfactory in the conditions and pays his compliments to the British troops at the Western Front, he remarks that their best chance is on the Salonica front. He informs Bower that they have begun lessons at the university but have only the "hunchbacks, lame and suchlike folks" in classes as all the best students are at the front. He also remarks on the number of women who have matriculated - there were 20 in science and 4 in engineering. |
