Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Sir David Prain concerning several topics. He remarks that he had not heard of the fire at Neill and Co and hopes that those affected learn a lesson and only send copies of papers to be published. He also thanks Bower for the reference for Thayer's book. He explains the meaning of the Indian word, Sahib. He also discusses the future of the medical profession which he thinks will become a branch of the public service within his lifetime, he queries whether doctors will be ranked with first or second class clerks.
