Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Dukinfield Henry Scott in which he discusses Bower's assertion that theoretical anatomy is a tottering structure in the light of William Henry Lang's address [to the recent meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science]. He remarks that he has never thought of theoretical anatomy as a tottering structure and was not much disturbed by Lang's address, in fact he believes it will have a considerable and useful effect on the lines of work that were followed by scientists. From one point of view, he believes Lang's address was part of the prevailing reaction against Darwinianism and remarks "It is interesting to have lived through the Darwinian period." |
