Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from John Christopher Willis in which he informs Bower that Robert Chapman Davie has arrived and is hard at work. He thanks Bower for the suggestions regarding the dictionary and remarks that public opinion seems to favour all genera and fossils but he has not had the final decision of the university press. He discusses his recent papers on natural selection which have been published in The Proceedings of the Royal Society and remarks that the third of these papers has brought evolution into the range of mathematics. He states that the figures show that the commonness of the species depends on its age from the time of its arrival into the country and that they go completely against the theory of natural selection. |
