Biographical History |
Throughout his career Frederick Orpen Bower exchanged letters with botanists, and others interested in botany, from all over the world. Some of the letters were professional, mainly requesting and giving samples of ferns or relating to the work of Section K (botany) of the British Association for the Advancement of Science or relating to publishing his own works or journals, and some of the letters are personal, in which he continues acquaintences and friendships with colleagues and ex-students such as Abercrombie Anstruther Lawson and David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan. Most of this collection of letters documents his research into ferns from 1917-1922. |
