Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from AK Chalmers in which he explains that a Glasgow and West of Scotland branch of the National Council for Combatting Venereal Disease has recently been formed and that they wished to hold a lecture series on reproduction as a physiological function. He asks Bower to do a few lectures illustrating the various functions of plant life and explains that they hope Sir John Graham Kerr might do the same for animal life, that James Francis Gemmell might take human reproduction as his subject and that J Arthur Thomson might deal with the question of functionaity generally. They feel that dealing with the subject in this way might pave the way for future propaganda concerning the disease. |
