Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Henry Horatio Dixon in which he expresses his regret that Bower could not attend the ceremony on the 4 March to receive his honouray degree but states that he understands that the weather was too bad to travel. He sympathises with Bower's teaching workload and tells him that his medical class was very large too and that he had also been asked to give a course in "Preliminary Science" for soldiers stationed in Trinity College Dublin and Dublin barracks while his assistant was still in Egypt. He says that he was more then rewarded by the enthusiasm and interest of the soldiers, many of whom came from Glasgow and Scotland. |
