Scope and Content

Scope and Content

Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Joseph Doyle in which he requests a favour of Bower. He states that he is sending 2 papers which he intends to present to the Royal Dublin Society (not attached) which relate to the morphology and affinity of larix. He states that he needed a little credential to ensure ready publication and so requested the opinion of Henry Horatio Dixon as his own professor is away on war duties. Dixon liked the facts but suggested that some of the discussion could be left out but stated that he was a physiologist, not a morphologist and suggested the papers should be sent to Bower. Doyle states that the papers have been re edited since Dixon saw them and invites comment from Bower.
