Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Joseph Doyle in which he requests a favour from Bower. He explains that he has more leisure for research now other members of staff have returned from war duty and that although he has a few things to finish off, he does not want to stay researching gymnosperms but perhaps research angiosperms, particularly the ferns Pteridophytes instead. He tells Bower that he is writing at the instigation of his wife who spent some time researching in Glasgow in Bower's department before she was married (Elizabeth J Leonard), and asks if Bower has any research that Doyle could help with. He offers to travel to Glasgow to see Bower if he wishes to proceed. |
