Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Joseph Doyle in which he thanks Bower for his letter and remarks that it is a shame that they cannot meet before Doyle's term starts. He states that he was disappointed to get Bower's reply stating that he has no work to give Doyle as he feels that he has not had much guidance in his professional life. He explains that the botany professor at University College Dublin is a zooolgist who was waiting for the zoology professorship to be come free so that Doyle has been the only botanical worker in the department for a long time. He also explains that he had been doing a lot of reading on various botanical subjects and has long felt he required guidance on the best route to go down. |
