Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Albert Charles Seward in which he informs Bower that he'd had a letter from Francis Wall Oliver asking if there was anything which could be done to persuade Agnes Arber to withdraw her resignation. He states that he told Oliver that he was between the devil and the deep sea but that he thought he acted in the right way. He informs Bower that he cannot take any further action and has no intention of discussing it with Miss Saunders. He suggests that William Bateson might be a good man to approach as he is on the council but adds that he is not sure whether Bateson is well enough to attend council. He remarks that he is curious to see whether Dukinfield Henry Scott agrees with Oliver and thanks Bower for his address on stele. |
