Scope and Content

Scope and Content

Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Sir Sydney Frederic Harmer in which he thanks Bower for his kind letter of congratulation. He reminisces about his days at university and states that he is glad Bower remembers them and remembers him as a pupil who gained great profit from his instruction. He tells Bower that he always held botany in high esteem and would have made it his career if zoology had not appealed more. He expresses his regret that he was forced to give up his study of botany to concentrate on zoology.
