Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from John Horne thanking Bower for sending him a copy of his lecture to the Royal Society on 'The Oldest Known Land Flora' which he also compliments Bower on. He suggests however that the time frame into which Bower has placed the Rhynie plants may be wrong. Most geologists place them in Middle Devionan time where as Bower has them in Lower Devonian. Work by Kidston and Lang suggests that they are older than Upper Devonian but Kidston will not commit himself beyond that. |
