Scope and Content

Scope and Content

Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Daniel Paul Montague apologising for bothering Bower when he is so busy with his huge medical classes. His post at Queens University Belfast is finishing at the end of the current term, as the man he had replaced has informed Richard Henry Yapp of his intention to return, having relinquished his post in India. He has heard no more about the vacancy at Kew but has become aware of a vacant chair in biology at the University of Melbourne, a lectureship in Winnipeg and two minor positions in Rome.

On the subject of publishing his research on regeneration in triticum (wheat), he feels that as he was funded by the Carnegie Trust, it seems appropriate to publish with the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He asks for Bower's assistance in facilitating this and offers to send Bower the paper.

He commends Bower on Botany of the Living Plant which he admires greatly.
