Scope and Content

Scope and Content

Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Dukinfield Henry Scott conveying some social matters and relating Abercrombie Anstruther Lawson' problems in not receiving his FRS yet and the posibility of him withdrawing his name. Scott has tried to reassure him and also comments on the volume of candidates. He also mentions his concerns at the price of his publication which is prohibitive but which is due to the publisher. He has still to finish volume 2.

He looks forward to Bower's lecture to the Royal Society of Edinburgh and discusses the question of whether sporangia is a modified thallus and the position taken by Karl Immanuel Eberhard Von Goebel on the subject.
