Scope and Content |
Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Sir Isaac Bayley Balfour in which he discusses the loss of Robert Chapman Davie and an obituary of him which was written by Bower. He discusses staffing arrangements within the botanical department of the University of Edinburgh and tells Bower of a former high school teacher, Pealling, who has returned from the war and wants to return to botany. He thinks, as James LS Smith hast taken Davie's place, that Pealling will do very well for Smith's place. |
