Scope and Content

Scope and Content

Letter to Frederick Orpen Bower from Margaret Benson in which she apologises for asking him to sponsor a paper which was rejected due to poor quality photographs. She remarks that it is extraordinary that anyone could have failed to appreciate the uniqueness of the specimen simply because it was a bit macerated. She states that no specimen could go through the hot water treatment which has produced her results without resulting in some damage and she fears it means the sporangia will always be undescribed. She remarks that she "could wish that paleobotany didn't suffer at the rebuke of untrained botanists".
