Biographical History |
In 1905 William Speirs Bruce made a visit to the Mer de Glace at Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in France and the Zermatt area of Switzerland. Little is known of this trip, but photographs would indicate that he was accompanied by his wife, Jessie Mackenzie Bruce, on what was probably a holiday. He is reported to have found the Swiss Glaciers "on too small a scale to be very impressive". |
