Barr and Stround retained files specifying the design of their products (such as rangefinders, binoculars, periscopes, gun sights, inclinometers, searchlights, fire control apparatus), component parts within them (such as lenses, mountings, electrical circuitry), production processes (such as the annealing of optical glass) and fitting instructions.
