Annual Reports of the Directors were issued annually from Session 1821-1822 to Session 1828-1829 and from 1833-1834 to Session 1837-1838. One report combined coverage of session 1838-1839 and 1839-1840. Thereafter the reports were issued annually, but were not termed Annual Reports until Session 1845-1846. The name of the Institution was changed to the Watt Institution and School of Arts from the date of purchase of the Adam Square premises, Edinburgh, in 1852.
