The Search facility allows you to search for a word or words (including names, subjects and places) which occur within the following parts of the descriptions: Administrative/Biographical History, Scope & Content and Index terms (subjects, names & places)
The Browse facility allows you to browse through alphabetically sorted lists of index terms: subjects, names (personal and corporate) and places to locate those of interest.
By clicking on the names of the partner institutions in the left-hand menu you can see a list of their targetted collections and work through the collection descriptions themselves.
Once you are in a collection description clicking on, for example, a personal name will lead you to a list of all relevant indexed entries for that person throughout the NAHSTE collections and, in some cases, biographies.
The biographies are arranged alphabetically.
Clicking on the individual's name at the top of a biography will lead you to a list of all relevant indexed entries for that person throughout the NAHSTE collections.
Clicking on the reference number beside each image in the gallery will take you to a description of that item (or to the lowest level description within which that item falls).
Clicking on the thumbnail image leads you to a larger one.
In the soundclips, clicking on the speaker icon beside each name will lead you to the soundclip itself, while clicking on the name will take you to a list of occurences of that person's name with in the NAHSTE collections and any biographical information (where available) (see instructions on biographies above).
