Joseph Black (1728-1799)

In almost all instances the links between the collections held at the National Library of Scotland and those at the Edinburgh University Library Special Collections Division appear at item level. As there are no substantial series of correspondence, or lecture notes, for example, the index of the Manuscripts Catalogue, the Advocate Manuscripts Index and the Accessions Index have been consulted.   MS 8487 (see volume VII) - a series of 15 lectures on the subject of heat delivered at Edinburgh University during the latter half of the C18th (essentially similar subject matter to MS 3533 and 3534, although the arrangement is different).
